Alba Triana’s artistic practice focuses on exploring the inherent intelligence of nature. Her artworks —which include sound and light sculptures, vibrational objects, and resonating spaces— are hybrid and cross the boundaries of a diverse set of fields. Artburst Magazine describes her as a “sound sculptor explor[ing] the interface between natural science and music… she combines rigor and poetic finesse.”

Triana received the 2023 Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundations Emerging Artist Award (Iberoamerica), the Civitella-Ranieri Foundation Fellowship (Italy/U.S.), the South Arts State Fellowship (U.S.), and has been awarded multiple grants in Colombia, such as IDCT National Composition Contest, the National Electroacoustic Music Contest, the Otto de Greiff National Contest, and the Best Exhibition of the Year Award by the French Alliance. She has received commissions, residences, and grants from the Kronos Quartet (U.S.), the Pro Helvetia Foundation (Switzerland), the American Composers Forum (U.S.), Oolite Arts (U.S.), and the Ministry of Culture of Colombia, among others.

Her work has been featured internationally at the University of Miami Lowe Art Museum (U.S.), the 104 Némo Biennale des Arts Numériques de Paris (France), the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (Colombia), the Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (Spain), the International Symposium of Electronic Arts (Colombia), and the Mt. Wilson Astronomical Observatory (U.S.), among others. Triana has participated in festivals such as Futura, Synthèse (France), and Zilele MuziciiNoi (Moldova). Her work forms part of multiple collections in Europe, Latin America, and the United States, including the Bank of the Republic of Colombia Fine Arts Collection (Bogotá, Colombia), and the Otazu Art Foundation Collection (Navarra, Spain), among others.
